Dear Jubilee Share Owners,

We hope all are well and looking forward to some great weeks with the warm weather…if it ever stops raining?

My apologies for taking over a year to get this email letter out. I have only one excuse and that is my slackness!

Woy Woy Bay only!
  1. As the boat lives in Woy Woy Bay, you can use the boat on a day basis 8 to 5 in non daylight saving periods for as little as $70 per day plus fuel.

  2. Use the boat from 8 to 8pm in daylight saving times for only $90 per day plus fuel.

  3. Over night stay sleeping on anchor over 1 night for only $140.
    8am 1st day to 8pm next day.
Staying more days can be arranged by talking to Mark.

  4. Again don’t get slack on how you enter and exit from a wharf.
The required angle to come on to a wharf is approx 60 Degrees and the same on exit.
Use the wharf posts to roll the bow of the boat on the gunwale (the black rubber bumper running around the boat).
Remember this is how we taught you when you did your advanced berthing / wharf training.
We can always show you again next time you take her out.

  5. We no longer have the large rubber duckie as it was almost never used.
The small duckie has been repaired and will only carry 3 persons.
If you need the larger duckie ask me and I’ll borrow it from the new owner.
We do however have a brand new outboard for the duckie.

  6. It finally seems that we can keep the hot water gas running by simply placing a magnetic cover over the lighting opening.
One of our owners discovered that when the toilet door was either opened or closed it created a sharp gust of air and blew out the flame.
Of course a strong breeze on the water can also blow it out.

  7. Taking the boat from another wharf has been the norm for some owners and I have agreed in the past, but here is the reason why I need to charge a fee for this from now on.
It takes me almost 2 hours to drive the boat to Gosford to do the pump out and fill the water tank if the boat is dropped of at Koolewong or Woy Woy.  It also cost me around $20 in fuel.
So I need to charge $100 here to cover my time and fuel, unless the owner does the pump out and water before dropping off the boat at the other wharfs.
In this case I can wave the fee.  I guess we should discuss this on an individual basis when booking.

  8. Unpaid levies. There are several owners with unpaid levies for this year.
If you haven’t used the boat and haven’t paid the levy of $400 then you are in breach of the contract and can lose your share totally.
If you don’t want to continue as an owner then we need to talk asap.

Out of season use
We will still allow the use of the vessel out of season by any owner.
As we are in our 5th year now, most of you have used the boat 4 times.
Only a few have taken the option to have a day or two anytime.
This really is helpful as the money raised goes to paying the maintenance costs and in particular the insurance.
Please ring or email to discuss.
Mark on his mobile OR email mark[at]riverboat.com.au

This means if you own any share and want to use the vessel in the next few months then you can make arrangements to take the vessel on a $100 per day rate mid week and $300 per weekends or $700 for a whole week!
Some of our owners have taken up this opportunity and had a wonderful time.
With this option you are not limited to Woy Woy Bay.
There is no additional levy on these uses either...it really is cheap!

Please note again the following points:-
  1. Always run the generator while cruising because the port engine will stop if you don’t as it needs the fuel pump turned on as does the generator.
Start the generator each morning for an hour and each evening for an hour OR the battery charge lights are in the top yellow or green indicator positions

  2. Please don’t ask me to fill the boat with petrol for you after your usage. This is your responsibility as per the contract.
If I end up with this job I will charge you $100 above the fuel costs.

  3. Please don’t bring the boat on to a wharf (even a private wharf) unless you have passed the advanced berthing / wharf training.

  4. Please note of the unusual navigation required to pass through ‘Half tide rocks’ just off Ettalong on your way out to the Hawkesbury and Pittwater.  Study the maps provided and know where you can and can't go.

  5. If you are crossing the mouth of the Hawkesbury and the sea is too rough, turn back and try at a later time.
If the bow goes up over a wave and comes down with a thump it could damage the vessel.
Your vessel is made of plywood not steel!  Also it has been designed for river cruising not ocean wave breaking.
Let’s not ruin it for all.  The best time to cross over and also for the return trip is early morning.

  6. Please remember to pay the maintenance levy (now $400 ) prior to your week on the boat.
If 2 owners want the same week the first to pay there levy will secure the booking.
Direct banking can be done, contact Mark for details, and please use your name with the payment details.

  7. Please use your crew members when reversing to check that the rubber duckie is either pulled up sideways against the transom of the boat or out to one side.
Be sure that all ropes are well clear of the propellers to prevent damage.  I have done this myself on more than one occasion, so think first and use all hands on deck to make the week accident free.

We still have some 5 year winter shares, lots of Spring, Autumn and Summer shares available, so please tell your friends about our wonderful Holiday ownership adventure.
We also have one winter owner keen to sell their share for only $1000 with 6 uses remaining.  Contact Mark for details.

Note that we now only sell 5 year shares, as follows.
1 x week share, 8 types available.  GST not included
Full share details are available on our website
Make your dream a reality...

1A 1 x Winter week @ $400/year x 5 = $2000
1B 1 x Winter holiday week @ $600/year x 5 = $3000

1D 1 x Autumn holiday week @ $1000/year x 5 = $5000
1E 1 x Spring week @ $800/year x 5 = $4000
1F 1 x Spring holiday week @ $1000/year x 5 = $5000

1Y 4 x Allmark’s winter blessing weeks available each year.
1Z 4 x Allmark’s weeks for maintenance and repairs.

An annual maintenance levy now $400 per share is the only additional cost.

Mark McAllan and Larry McCall (Riverboat syndicate management)
